In 2006 Stan Spence retired after 20 years of employment with Kelly-Moore Paint. Stan had always wanted to own a pizza restaurant and it was time to realize that dream.
Stan’s granddaughter called him “Poppi” and so with the help of family, Poppi's Take ‘n Bake Pizza opened in August of 2007.
For a number of years Stan and son Jared worked 7 days a week with few exceptions. Sandra, daughter Stacia and granddaughter CaitLynn pitched in when needed. The hiring of Tina Long as Poppi’s assistant manager (and her recent certification as a food safety professional) has helped in the training of new staff.
One of the keys to Poppi's success is the time spent by Jared Spence, owner/manager, researching the best pizza ingredients, formulating sauces and creating Poppi’s freshly made dough.
We enjoy getting to know our customers by name and sharing stories about camping and fishing and our favorite football team (Bleed Blue and Orange).
