In 2006 Stan Spence retired after 20 years of employment with Kelly-Moore Paint. Stan had always wanted to own a pizza restaurant and it was time to realize that dream.
Stan’s granddaughter called him “Poppi” and so with the help of family, Poppi's Take ‘n Bake Pizza opened in August of 2007.
For a number of years Stan and son Jared worked 7 days a week with few exceptions. Sandra, daughter Stacia and granddaughter CaitLynn pitched in when needed. The hiring of Tina Long in December of 2017 (and her certification as a food safety professional) has played a pivotal role in the hiring and training of new staff. Tina has been with us ever since as Store Manager and plays a direct role in Poppi's continued success and longevity. Tina has become an extension of the family, not just representing Poppi's, but spending time with the family outside of work. And after 15 years at Poppi's Stan was able to officially "retire" and leave Poppi's in the good hands of son Jared and Manager Tina.
One of the keys to Poppi's success is the time spent by Jared Spence, owner, researching the best pizza ingredients, formulating sauces and creating Poppi’s freshly made dough.
We enjoy getting to know our customers by name and sharing stories about camping and fishing and our favorite football team (Bleed Blue and Orange).
